Achyuta Samanta’s Life Story: Founder of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology.
Achyuta Samanta was the child of a poor family in Kalarabanka (Cuttack, Odisha) on 20 January 1965. Samanta is the founder of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, (KIIT). This institute provides free healthcare, food, and education for all classes, from pre-graduation to post-graduation.
Achyuta was raised in poverty in Odisha, India. He lives with his widowed mother as well as seven siblings. His father’s name Shri Anadi Charan Samanta is his mother’s, and their name is Smt. Nilima Rani Samanta. Samanta’s father was killed in a train accident when he was just four years old. His mother was left with the pain of losing her father in a tragic train accident. Iti Samantha, his youngest sister, is a famous Indian writer, editor and film producer.

After completing his Master’s degree in Chemistry, Achyuta Saanta found a job as a teacher at a local college. He also tutored private students. He set up Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences in 1992-93. It was an International Baccalaureate affiliated school. Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology was a private tutoring institution. In a rented house, he spent Rs. 5000. He also founded the Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, a medical college.
Achyuta Samanta is also the founder of Kadambini Media Pvt Ltd. (KMPL) and a promoter for culture and arts. In the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi, he is currently setting up a museum for tribal life and culture called ‘Gandhi Gram’. Gandhi Gram is a center for yoga and spiritualism.
Samanta has established more than 25 spiritual centers and shrines. Since 2000, he has organized the Little Miss India contest Nanhi Pari. Achyuta Samanta was awarded the Honorary Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.). Daffodil International University
Achyuta received his M.Sc. in Chemistry degree from Utkal University. Samanta has a decade of experience as a teacher in colleges, mainly at Maharshi College, Utkal University in Bhubaneswar. He is also an exchancellor and secretary at KIIT University.
Samanta set new records in social entrepreneurship and received a variety of awards. He is the youngest chancellor of any Indian University. Achyuta Samanta was named one of the top 15 social entrepreneurs in the world.
Prof. Samanta has worked tirelessly towards Zero Hunger, Zero Poverty and Zero Illiteracy. Professor Samanta has established more than 11 KISS educational institutes in different parts of the country. In addition to providing over 10,000 direct jobs at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, he has also created more than 100 entrepreneurs and more than 1,00,000.
